Communications service providers (CSPs) have made significant investments in 5G, with $100 billion spent in 2022 and an anticipated additional $129 billion in 2023. The successful monetization of these investments is crucial for the industry's future. Failing to capitalize on 5G could hinder the development of future technologies like 6G. Traditional business models, relationships, and technology are ill-equipped to extract value from 5G's capabilities, such as super speed, ultra-low latency, ubiquitous connectivity, precise location services, and quality control. In this session, Marc Rouanne from DISH Networks, and Shkumbin Hamiti from Nokia, will explore the solution to this multi-billion-dollar challenge: programmable networks. By creating a programmable network environment, where developers can dynamically enhance the application experience and performance for both enterprise and consumer customers, CSPs can harness the full potential of 5G. This approach differs from the limited value and revenue potential of CPaaS (Communication Platform as a Service). The discussion will focus on - the various aspects of programmable 5G networks, including their impact on cloud and SaaS adoption, - automation and AI integration, security measures, ecosystem development, - enterprise 4.0 use cases, and efficient management practices. Speakers: • Marc Rouanne, EVP, Global Partnerships, DISH Wireless • Shkumbin Hamitן, Head of Network Monetization Platform BU, Nokia
